Morehead State University women’s basketball coach Tom Hodges will be featured Saturday, Jan. 15, on ESPN’s College GameDay.
The first-year coach has drawn national attention with his wardrobe. He has been mentioned in USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Lexington Herald-Leader and many other publications.
Hodges contacted LoudMouth Golf -- the same company that outfits golfer John Daley -- about wearing the company's attention-grabbing attire on the sidelines.
His goal was to draw attention to the women's basketball program.
An ESPN crew visited the Morehead State campus earlier this month and interviewed Hodges, and even peaked into his closet.
He was named the Eagles’ ninth women’s coach on May 17, 2010. When hired, he was the youngest head coach in Division I.
A 28-year-old native of Shelbyville, Tenn., Hodges spent the previous five years at Middle Tennessee State, including the last two as an on-court assistant to Rick Insell. Prior to MTSU, Hodges also worked at Chattanooga and Morehead State’s Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee Tech.
The Eagles are 12-5 overall and 5-2 in Ohio Valley Conference action.
MSU will visit Eastern Illinois University Saturday, Jan. 15. Tip off is slated for 5 p.m.
College GameDay starts at 10 a.m. on ESPN and 11 a.m. on EPSNU.
